I recently came up with a new idea that might help with freezing while using your CK3 along with a DVD drive. It may make no difference.
1. When you plug out the molex cables from some of your hard disk/optical drives to save power - make sure you also as well plug out the IDE/SATA cables from the drive itself, or else your computer can freeze. The best thing to do is to just leave every single device inside your computer connected (Molex/SATA/IDE), even though plugging out some of them may avoid the risk of flashing the wrong drive. Update: Just leave every single cable and device inside your computer connected, and no more freezing issues with CK3 and Windows.
2. If your motherboard SATA chipset is already compatible with JungleFlasher, be sure to plug out any VIA PCI SATA card and use the onboard one instead. Refrain from using both at the same time as conflicts may occur, and it will be a lot harder to find the correct I/O port (usually the 1st one anyway). If the motherboard is not compatible, then stick to the VIA.
3. If you are using a VIA card, install the VT6421 drivers. If using onboard, the factory defaults are fine. Your VIA card should show up as VIA VT6421 Raid Controller and NOT VIA 3249 Raid Controller in Device Manager. http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/vraid_driver_v550b.zip
4. Make sure you are using 64-bit/32-bit drivers depending on what bit your operating system is running on. What this means is that you should use either the DosFlash64 or DosFlash32 version and the latest JungleFlasher.
5. Reboot and more reboots. Computers sometimes may think a device is faulty, since freezing can also happen if you plug in a faulty USB flash device. This might not be the case here as the CK3 is 100% working and stable. The freezing may be associated with the Xbox 360 DVD drive and is normal.
