You can use tape to secure the wires instead of soldering or using solder paste.
There's also something called electrical/conductive tape too, but it is not recommended over normal transparent household/masking tape since you can easily short the circuit. With regular tape, you can make a connection as long as you have solid core AWM wires to create a path (if the tape overlaps with another solder point it still won't short, only the wires will if you don't position it on the solder point correctly). I'd use tape along with some wires before you do any soldering.
Jtagging is a very complex and require that you do everything properly without damaging the circuitry or the kit. Follow the Tiaowiki tutorial carefully is my recommendation. There are some drivers here
