so i'm trying to get the key from 7 series lite on now, with the ck3 solderless kit. This is not working. I already fried out the 93450c because of this janky kit. I would really like to get a different kit. This one is obviously bad if it won't eject the dvd drive for one. two, it does power on, and when i do hit the eject button on the kit, the light does go green, but again-it doesn't eject. The pc reads my liteon because of the sata cable. When the ck3 is powered on, it's alwasy status 0x51 or 0x52. This was the case with the first liteon-the 93450c. I assume now that the kit I was sold is janky (must've been a dud) so I will need a replacement or a refund. This doesn't get any liteon into 0x72 mode, nor will it even open a dvd drive. There is something wrong with it, and it was like that obviously when I got it, as there was the whole getting my 93450c fried from it. I am now out 50 bucks, one xbox, and although this dvd drive still works as stock (not really, it's got open disc, hence the whole reason I need the key) I didn't get the key nor can I with this kit. The item description says it's everything I need to extract the key from any lite-on drive, including the 93450c's. So now what am I supposed to do from here?
One fried 93450c without being able to get the key, so one entirely useless xbox elite (I know I followed those instructions properly, and I've got years of electronics work/soldering/software/hardware under my belt)
This kit will not extract anything. As a test, I hooked up a benq drive, and it still won't eject the drive, but I can get the firmware as that only requires a sata and power connection. Liteons are different, and this kit isn't working properly. I am so upset about losing an xbox not to my own incompetence, but because the kit itself isn't properly functioning.
Idk if this is in the wrong section or not, because I still have the kit, and I still have the 7 series liteon, and can still extract the key, once I get a proper kit to do so. The one I bought was supposed to be able to read the key from any liteon, but it can't even get the one from the older 7 series. Sooooo upset. If you don't know what 93450c I'm talking about, it's the one in the thread that says bad ground? for the title.
