Hello,
I have a USB receiver for my XBox360 wireless controller, and it worked for the first month and a half, but suddenly it just stopped recognizing it even though the receiver and cord never move or are subject to any abuse whatsoever. I guess this is a common problem, and I'm still not sure if MS will fix it or who's dime it'll be on(probably mine). It just shows up in windows as an unrecognized device. I got Task Manager to recognize it for what it was one time, but every time I try to update the driver to the correct one(it shows none at all to start with) the wizard tells me the driver is not for my hardware and just gives up. Is there the equivalent of a "use the damn driver anyway" function? I'm on Vista Home x64(special Dell edition), which I know isn't the best but I have a legal copy and I'm trying to start a charity so upgrading OS is not an option right.
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
