Hi, new to the forums here. I just recieved my ck3 kit and this is my first attempt at a liteon. I cut the traces, hooked it all up, and the original problem was that dosflash would read the liteon even without the two probes (red n black wires n pogo pins) connected. So I figured that I didn't cut the power trace well enough. Done. Took me two hours to figure that out with trial and error. Then the problem was that I couldn't get it to read the 93450c even with the pins held in place. I think it's the ground trace, so I have fixed it twice with the silver glue. When I connected it back to the pc (I didn't give it time to dry) it sparked a bit, then burned a bit lol, then it seemed to dry the silver glue. I asked myself what else could go wrong at this point, and do I need a COMport adapter now? I thought this kit was meant to be used without one...Still no luck, so I checked the traces again, cut deeper to the power and the ground, then i reapplied the silver glue where i realized that you need to leave a ground current running accross, and just cut the diagonal arrow around trace A (ground trace) leaving a current directly above it (I think anyway).
I hooked it all back up, spark, burn, sealed up that silver glue hahahaa. It reads again! So now it only reads the drive when the pogo pins are in place. Perfect, right? Well, now that I finally got it right (I think) I can't read the key! When I first start dosflash and it asks me to keep sending driver info and I choose yes, it shows a status of 0x51 then just hangs forever. I also noticed that when I choose no, the manufacturer says 0x00 and so does all the other info, but it does show my liteon 93450c. Well, I am obviously out of ideas and I've tried everything I can think of. IF someone can help me get my key out of my liteon, I'm just going to spoof it to a benq for an easier future (till this console gets rrod, then I fix that, then it dies completely).
Also I just wanted to add that I have been working at this same dvd drive for literally 6 hours, minus the time I took to register here and post this. I'll refresh on my breaks, but I just don't know how many more times I can hook this up with the pins and get the same results...Please help me out here

Have you tried JF? You need to get status 0x72 before you can read anything. I'd re-check everything to make sure the cuts are correctly cut.
if you can take a picture of it, that would be very useful as well.
thanks

yeah, it's the same in jungleflasher 0x51. I did however with jungleflasher get it to display an 0x52 twice, but it's at random...and if i turn on the ck3 without the pogo probes, then it gets 0x80.

it has now sparked, and burnt up. the drive is toast. great.

Do you have a picture of it?
this mod is not as easy as the 7xxxx one, you must be very careful of each step, take time to do that, do NOT rush.

the thing is, i had it reading the drive, but it was only reading it in 0x51 and every once in a while it was 0x52. never 0x72. it would read 0x80 if neither probe was attached. with only power hooked up, it also read 0x51 and 0x52, so i assumed the problem was with the ground. that is the picture above of what it looked like right before it burnt up completely. notice the burnt power trace, so that was definitely cut...i'm wondering how i'm supposed to replace my dvd drive without a key now (which i believe isn't possible).

If you are getting 0x51 or 0x52, then thats a good thing. You would have needed to alternate the points of interest (power and ground) while in DosFlash32 to get the 72 status.
Start by holding just the power (red) with NO ground connected. DosFlash would detect status 0x51 or 0x52 and from there, you would just need to tap the ground to point 101 and instantly flash status 72 would arrive.
IF NOT, then (while in status 0x51) remove ground AND power, and reapply ground to pin 101, then add power to your point of interest. Hold power, and remove ground, and you should have good flash status.
These drives are tough to do, considering how small some of these points are, but if directions followed clearly and performed slowly as stated above, you should not have had this issue.
Send a picture of your drive (make sure its high quality), it may still be recoverable.

i did follow the instructions clearly, it's just that the drive itself fried out-the ground is fried on the drive. it is always status 0x80 now. it's fried, and i can't get the key from it to spoof another drive to my console. I can't post any better pics than the one i already posted. the ground on the drive itself seems to have fried. i followed the instructions but here's exactly how i did it-
1. took everything apart
2. unhooked the dvd drive from my pc so i could use the cord from it
3. connected the kit to my pc
4. connected the 93450c to the sata cable
5. connected the power, then ground, practiced many times while kit was turned off
6. turned on kit, then connected power, then ground, held in place while buddy ran jungleflasher over teamviewer for me while i watched his every move and could also communicate by voice over msn at the same time.
7. when that didn't work, and it showed status 0x51, i tried to do it myself, thinking that maybe it's because i had those other programs running, bogging down my quadcore...(trying everything)
8. tried dosflash, also 0x51 and sometimes 0x52 so i think the traces might not be cut right. i've got a lot of years soldering experience, but everyone still makes mistakes sometimes.
9. power is now cut correctly, and i triple checked the ground. definitely cut. it's in the pic. and this is where i ran into the problem.
so then at this point my drive only reads 0x51 or 0x52 with the power probe only, and also with power and ground at once, and also at power first, then ground. otherwise the entire time the status is 0x80. i literally saw the ground spark and fizzle out from bright to nothing. it is fried. and i don't understand how it didn't read the key. this is the first kit i've seen that doesn't use a comport (that's up to date anyway) and my friend that also does this kind of thing says he's never heard of a kit or a way to get the key from an 8 or 9 series without a comport connection.
i guess there's nothing i can do now but try again. only problem is, if this console gets messed up, this next one doesn't belong to me. i'm broke now too, and my girl won't let me get myself another console at this point unless it's got an older dvd drive in it and after we get this month's rent and car payment paid off. so now i really don't want to get my friend's console screwed up like mine is as i have no way to replace my own, let alone replace his. if only i had gotten the damn key i wouldn't have to replace my entire console. let's just hope the repair center is nice enough to give me a working one.

You probably should have already gotten the 256KB .bin key. Just spoof it into a newly-purchased drive like LiteOn/BenQ.

You are not supposed to use silver glue during the key reading/dumping/extracting process.
Silver glue is only for when you about to rejoin the traces. Using silver glue is known to make things spark if you don't let it dry completely or if you try to rejoin the PCB bus lines together instead of separately. Also, the positive/ground trace were fine. You just had to cut the traces deeper.
You gonna have to find some place in your area that does console modding or DVD drive PCB fixing. Tell them to either fix your original drive for your original Xbox 360 or to jTag it. Also, tell them to spoof it to a LiteOn or BenQ. Don't let them spoof it to a Hitachi/Samsung. Spoofing and Flashing is easy, you should be able to do it yourself with ease. Flash to the newest iXtreme LT firmware for LiteOn/BenQ using the latest JungleFlasher 1.72 build 101
You can fix your Xbox here:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/ChangeLocale.htm
then
http://service.xbox.com/servicehome.aspx
or
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/registerdevice.aspx?step=repair
or
http://www.xbox.com/support
This might not work since I am assuming none of your Xbox has RROD unless you force it to and use a printed warranty sticker on the internet, or one you saved using the hair dryer + razor blade/utility knife trick. Just find a place near to your area on the web or telephone directory that does console modding.

thanks, but i've already taken the above precautions. It's on it's way back from the repair center. I'm not retarted, I just got a janky kit. It works, after I make my own usb spear (with the rs232 chip inside for an rx connection) and used my own cords as the power cord I was sent was shit, and caused my drive to fry. luckily it didn't fry the kit itself, cause i'm sick of waiting in the mail and having to learn how to make this cord for the 7 series, as my ANY LITEON kit only does 8 and 9 series, with my own provided power cord.
My point is, I feel like ya'll should've sent me this usb cord for the 7 series instead of me having to make my own, and the power cord wasn't even suggested as a troubleshooting method. I pretty much got all this taken care of on my own, and I ordered this kit specifically so I can work with the liteon series (it was claimed to work on all liteons-that would include 7's too) but it can't get the key from a 7 series without either a comport or usb probe.
Cmon now, I get a half working kit for 50 bucks, fix the kit myself, add missing parts to it myself (the usb cord I have to make once the cable arrives in the mail), and luckily my console got fixed in it's fried dvd drive state (that prolly wouldn't have fried if the power cord worked right that was sent to me).
After re-reading most of the responses, it seems that you guys like to point the blame and tell everyone that they did something wrong, that is the assumption, but the kit itself is to blame and the ppl that sold it to me. there are other brands out there of the ck3 kit out there, and I almost bought a different one from Xecuter, but was hoping that ya'll would step up and do something about this janky kit that you sold me. You didn't, you won't, and all you do is point the blame and assume I did something to screw it up myself. Well, I am the one that bought the kit. But i'm also the one that fixed the problem with it, not you guys. How professional is that? Now I gotta make my own usb key extractor cord? cause it didn't come with the kit, but it claimed to work with all liteons. I'm also sick of repeating myself. I feel like you guys owe me one of these usb extractors and a new dvd power cord. Luckily I got my 360 repaired, and took care of fixing this kit myself, and I'm making that usb cord, cause when I submitted the ticket, since I went through your ebay store, they won't fix a damn thing!!!! Another thing you just wash your hands of and don't take blame for. One bad part in the kit, especially the power, can screw up everything else, regardless of skill level. Faulty parts and missing items shows negligence, and the refusal to fix said situation is just ignorant and unprofessional.

Hi, have you ever opened a ticket at www.csbooth.com for after purchase support? if you do, what is your ticket number?
Thanks
