The drive is not dead. The cuts you made were done properly the second time around, and the drive needs for you to insert the pogo pins into it to power it up manually.
To dump:
- Plug in SATA cables to your VIA controller card or onboard.
- Turn on the CK3.
- Highlight dosflash32.exe
- Insert both pogo pins into the PWR and GND points. (make sure the tiny silver needle attached to the pogo pins are touching it).
- Press enter key to launch dosflash.
- Follow the rest of the tutorial if you got Status 0x72. Remember you need to let go off the GND pogo pin before reading.
Note: Don't forget make sure you hook up all the necessary cables to the CK3, and use a 20ohm resistor provided. You can test the pogo pins on other devices like a battery/breadboard setup to make sure the resistor and everything else is making a connection.
If you are not getting Status 0x72: The cuts on the GND point was not done properly (the positive is fine) or you are not letting your hands touch the GND point correctly.
Remember: GND point gives you Status 0x72...Positive point powers up the drive.
