Hi,
I just installed TIAOiSprinklerPi-1.0.0-Alpha.img on my Pi (it is not yet attached to the controller as I just ordered it, was hoping to poke around a little). After it boots it says tiaosspi login:
What user / password would I use?

It's the default raspberry pi admin username and password. You should be able to find it with a search.

Yes, you can load opensprinkler pi image on it. It is fully compatible. You can also use SIP: http://dan-in-ca.github.io/SIP/
