Hi.
I am having the same problem as a fellow user on this forum could someone please send me a link to the BCUSB.3.01.SPI.hex firmware
I tried with a usb powered hub also i get the same error.
Hello, i bought a blackflash usb from ebay for use it in spi mode, i received it today, installed it as described athttp://www.tiaowiki.com/w/How_to_install_TIAO_Black_Flash_USB%2B_Universal_Flash_Programmer_Driver_on_Windows_Vista_or_Windows_7, but after loading the FCUSB.3.05.SPI.hex firmware i got an error message : usb hub power exceeded, and FlashcatUSB status : Disconnected. This happens only in spi mode, i tried out the ejtag and nand firnware and in those modes i didn't get that error. How can i repair it? thanks

Unfortunately, BCUSB.3.01.SPI.hex firmware is not available here... You should make an account on blackcatusb.net and search for spi firmware...
Alternatively, you can always contact TIAO Corp., Customer Care for TIAO products;
They can be contacted via email at

after loading FCUSB.3.05.SPI as instructed in http://www.tiaowiki.com/w/How_to_Load_Firmware_to_TIAO_Black_Flash_USB%2B_Universal_Flash_Programmer
After i finish i get a error saying USB HUB Power Exceeded, the divice stays with the green light on and doesnt do anything. FlashcatUSB software shows FlashcatUSB status: Disconnected. I'm not able to load any other firmware. What can i do?

You may try;
a) using different firmware (please contact TIAO Customer Care to get another firmware)
b) disabling usb HUB that is inside BlackFlashUSB
c) using new usb cable which has dual power input for more power

i cant get into bootloader mode anymore after putting the spi firmware. How can i upload another firmware?

I have the same problem

I tried disabling the USB hub but that does not fix the problem
I am also looking for BCUSB.3.01.SPI.hex, anybody have it or know what version of Blackcat USB software had this firmware version?

Just tested your suggestion using a dual powered usb cord and problem still persists, so we know its not really a power issue

Hello to everybody, i cannot upload the BCUSB 3.01 spi firmware here but i sent it today to Will (Global Moderator) (he sent me his e-mail address), so he probably will upload it to this forum. Tested again: 3.01 working, 3.04 and 3.05 giving that error.

What implications using older firmware has I don't know, hopefully it does not mean it will lessen amount of spi devices supported

Use the reset switch in 'bootloader' mode to go to 3.0.1 firmware, and should be able to save motherboard. All should be good!
