Hi there everybody, I'm in the process of doing my first RGH and these forums have been super useful in what seem quite an involved task. so retro-thanks.
My query is this - On the PCB mentioned there is 3 diodes that seem to be in series, just before I was about to start hackin away I noticed the last one (D3) had been ripped of 1 contact. As it is now gone, can the board work with just D1 & D2 (jump D3) and if not would I be able to replace it with something a little less comparable to a grain of sand? cheers

can you take a close up picture of the 3 diodes on your pcb?
thanks

The three diodes drop the CPLD's voltage down for "phat" mode. If youre using it on a slim, the diodes are bypassed. If youre using it on a phat with RGH 2.0, you should be running the CPLD at "slim" voltage. ("slim" jumper setup minus the top jumper, the top one enables the onboard caps for CPU_RST.)
In short, on the P2 header, jump pins 3-4 (bypassing the diodes) for Slims or RGH 2.0
On P2 jump pins 1-2 to enable the 226-280pf adjustable capacitance between CPU_RST and ground. (Believed to help slim boot times).

Thanks for the replies, heres the board (identical to mine) but mine has no D3.
As RGH 2.0 seems to be way to go and i am hacking a phat, i should be ok by what you say thescamp.
I assume that I can just upload the CPLD with 2.0 files or do i need a special board?

Think I should have read mirages post, It seems you can run 2.0 code no probs, just with having the jumpers set up right as you said thescamp, cheers
