i am using jungle flasher and im trying to flash my stock liteon drive... i tryed many different tutorial to get key but nothing worked... i connect the sata cable to the computer first then i connect the v3 kit to the computer then i connected sata and power to drive.... i booted windows into bios turn on v3.. eject tray.. close half way by hand... power off v3 .... start up windows 7 for some reason my computer always freeze when i power on v3 but that not the problem.. i open jungle flasher (tab32) put probe into r707 go to get key and all im getting is bad serial data... when i try to dummy key button all i get is power tray half way open error i have power tray several times still same problems... i can see drive in jf and i have flashed all other models drives im only having trouble with liteon drives... please im willing to try anything to figure out how.... i read that theres a way to get the dvd key off the labels of the drive but i dont know what utility program to use to do this please help i been on this for 3 days now :-X

thanks but i installed it and im still getting the same error any more ideas?

is there a process that im suppose to do to get jf to read drive? is there any other utility that i can use to flash liteon 74850 are there any other flashing method

Try testing for continuity by letting the red/black probe of your multimeter touch the USB extractor's needle, and then let the black/red probe touch some of the golden points on the USB extrator's USB connector itself. Does the multimeter beep or give out a resistance value? Just checking to make sure a path is flowing through the extractor device.
The steps go like this:

First power up the drive using half-tray open, then click DVDKey 32 tab. Select the correct I/O Port that your LiteOn 74850c is on. The Drive Properties will show up if the SATA cable is plugged into your motherboard and the CK3 is turned on.
Now make sure the COM port is set to "USB" and then while holding the probe needle down onto the R707 point on the PCB without accidentally moving it around, click the "DVDKey 32" button. The key should extract in the JungleFlasher log located at the bottom.

i dont have a usb probe i have a ck3 probe it attaches to the drive and the v3 kit ......and yes im getting a read in the multimeter i've try to touch the bottom of the r707 or tx it lights up green when i touch it but still bad serial data.... im thinking maybe im powering the drive wrong? any suggestion

Try seeing if some of these tips help:

Is it definitely a 74850c version? The 83850c uses LO83Info instead.
Are you probing the R707 hole?
Is the tray half in? You can check the User Guide on how to do this. Without the tray half in, you will get this error.
Is the Probe/Spear connected properly, have the correct lights? Double check these connections.
Never rule out the possibility of one of these cables being faulty. If you have tried all of the other checks, then try using alternative cables.

Also when was the last time you flashed your drive? Do you have a VIA card or an onboard one. Some drivers might have changed. Download this driver for the VIA http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/vraid_driver_v550b.zip If you have onboard, download any SATA/RAID drivers for it (also called SB Southbridge drivers).

ok i have try to doownload the raid fir win 7 it says it was installed but i cant not find it in my driver manager... plus still no luck with the lite on drive is there any other way to get the key from the drive?

Make sure you are using the latest JungleFlasher as well as it comes with PortIO32/64 builtin - http://jungleflasher.net/downloads.html
You should consider buying the Diygadget's USB key extractor or the combo package, it should help a lot without issues.

Some proper punctuation might help here.
I don't know what you're trying to say by "booted windows into bios", but that doesn't make any sense.
To do the half-open tray properly, you do:
1. Turn on the v3 kit, so that the drive has power
2. Hit the eject button so the tray is all the way out
3. Turn off the v3 kit, so the drive has no power
4. Push the tray half way in
5. Turn on the v3 kit again, so the drive has power once more.
Also, I never put the probe in any holes, I touched it to the bottom solder point on the r707.
