== Problem ==

You may not see COM port in your windows device manager after you have successfully installed TUMPA driver.
The problem is caused by EEPROM configuration of the chip.  The driver for port B is set to D2XX, thus you don't see virtual in Windows device manager.

== Solution ==

This problem can be resolved by change the EEPROM configuration.  Please follow the following steps.

# Download FT_Prog from [http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities.htm FTDI website] (search for FT_prog and you will see the download link).
# Unzip downloaded zip file to a temporary directory, such as C:\temp\ftprog.
# Launch FT_Prog.exe.
# Plug TUMPA to your computer's USB port.
# Click on "Device" - "Scan and Parse", or the magnifier icon on the menu bar to search for device.
# FT_Prog should find TUMPA.  Now, expand the Device Tree to port B, click on Hardware, make sure RS232 UART is selected:[[Image:Nocom-1.png|none]]
# Select Driver, and select Virtual COM Port, then click on "Program" icon on the menu bar:[[Image:Nocom-2.png|none]]
# Click on the "Program" button on the confirmation dialog.
# Now you have the TUMPA configuration changed.  Unplug TUMPA from your PC, wait for 10 seconds, then re-connect TUMPA back to your PC.
# Open Windows device manager, right mouse click on "USB serial port" and then select "Update driver software...": [[Image:Nocom-3.png|none]]
# In the next dialog windows, select "Browse my computer for driver softwares...", then browse to the TUMPA's driver directory (make sure include subdirectory is checked), then click Next.
# Follow the instructions to install the driver.  You should see something similar to this: [[Image:Nocom-4.png|none]]
# Now remove the TUMPA from your PC, wait for 10 seconds, then re-plug the cable back to your PC, COM port should show up in device manager:[[Image:Nocom-5.png|none]]
